Dear friends and family,
Let me begin by saying that it is clear that there is a need/desire/yearning for Lula's existence here in the Michiana area. While there have been several close calls, I haven't found an option that is right for me and my family. I am open to listening to creative solutions on how this problem might be solved - whether through purchase, partnership, or some other unconsidered possibility. Lula's has been a thriving and profitable business for sixteen years running, and there is a tremendous opportunity for someone to pick up this ball and run with it.
Our family has experienced the full range of emotions over the past few months, with focus on the wonderful support, love, and prayers you have shared during this difficult time. I am thrilled and excited to report that we are staying here in South Bend and that yesterday, I accepted a leadership position with Anthony Travel, a fantastic locally-owned company.
It has been one of the great gifts of my life to serve all of you marvelous people over the counter at Lula's - and I will continue to find many ways to serve this community in the years to come.
For now, Lula's is on hold, but I'm hopeful that the future is bright for a cafe' that has brought much joy to so many of us over the past decade and a half.
Here's a heartfelt thanks for your role in creating a special place in the world,
Steve
